Sears CSR

Eco Product Categories

Live Green DisplayOne of the biggest opportunities for Sears as a retailer to have a positive impact on the environment is to make it easy for our customers to Live Green by providing a wide assortment of eco products, at competitive prices. Sears provides customers with the information and product selection they need to help them make better choices when purchasing.

Sears launched the Live Green program at an Earth Hour event with WWF-Canada CEO Gerald Butts on March 27, 2010.

As part of the Live Green program Sears identifies and markets products that have passed the Sears eco product approvals process for customers looking to make greener choices.

There are four main categories and eco icons that we use to classify eco products: Uses Less Power, Healthy Home, Renewable Resources and Saving Water. By grouping eco products into these categories we hope to resonate with customer needs and purchasing decisions, making it easy for them to find the eco products to suit their lifestyle.

Along with one of these eco icons, eco products at Sears may also have a third party certification, such as Forest Stewardship Council (FSC), Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS), and ENERGY STAR.
