Case Study: Second Nature

Subject Profiled: Holly Credicott

“A lot of what we do, we just do,” says Holly Credicott, Logistics Team Lead at our Belleville National Logistics Centre. “All of the green and sustainability initiatives – we do this stuff as easily as we breathe.” In a facility with hundreds of associates this might normally be hard to believe, but our Belleville centre is not any ordinary facility – it’s a community.

Associates are always on board, making every one of the multitudes of programs a success. The centre recently put in a battery recycling collection bin, which has already been filled more than once. Associates love participating in socio-environmental initiatives as well; in addition to the on-site summer herb and veggie garden, everyone looks forward to the annual Mats for Haiti initiative.  Now in its second year, this program involves two volunteers who come in to crochet mats out of colourful plastic milk bags that associates collect at home. Everyone at the Belleville NLC has come to expect these kinds of programs, and the ideas keep flowing in.

Every department has its own area to sort through all the different material types, and organics is the next stream that Holly and the team are looking to tackle. With such an engaged community of associates, we know that they will keep up the great work!
